WEEE Fees

Effective April 1, 2009 (updated April 1, 2010), the Minister of the Environment of Ontario has introduced a requirement under the Waste Diversion Act, 2002 (WDO) and the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Plan that requires fees to be paid on the delivery of certain computer products into the province. This is being administered through Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES) with a fee structure as follows:

*Please note that the fees for desktop computers and portable computers do not include fees for monitors(external), printers and computer peripherals devices such as mice, keyboards (external), single hard drives (external) or optical drives (external). 

The Ontario program differs from other provincial electronics program where obligation may fall upon the last seller at the point of purchase.  Because of this legislative change, Laurier Computer will be charging customers the above noted fee structure for all purchases/shipments made into the province of Ontario effective April 1, 2009. These fees will be in addition to standard quoted product costs and will be reflected as a separate line item on your invoice.
